Job Summary:
Responsible for providing analytical and complex support to one or more functional areas including environmental, health, safety and training/development. Specific responsibilities include data entry and administrative support for the Learning Management System (LMS); proof-reading and editing fleet-wide documents including policies and procedures, newsletters and presentations; coordinating training assignments using LMS; assist in planning, developing, and coordinating Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) department meetings at the direction of EHS personnel; perform basic research on EHS related topics; supporting other EHS team members with projects as designated; supporting centralization of EHS reporting and recordkeeping; assisting EHS Department with information and data management. Ability to take direction and work cooperatively with others, strong oral and written communication skills. Incorporates safe behavior into all activities and consistently comply with all established safety and health policies and procedures.
- Entry-level; practical operating knowledge to perform job.
- Performs standardized, ongoing duties and tasks.
- Strong communication skills- assists in writing fleet-wide communications based on input from EHS personnel.
- Reviews, edits, and formats Standards, procedures, presentations, and other documents using Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Performs routine data entry tasks in Calpine’s Learning Management System (LMS), records Management system and incident tracking systems as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- Associate Degree in related discipline and 3 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Valid state driver’s license.
